We never see your Steam password.* Not stored, not logged, not anywhere.
You link an account by scanning a QR code with the Steam mobile app. Steam signs you in on its side and hands us a session token, the same thing the Steam client on a PC receives. That token is encrypted before it is stored, the key lives only on the machine that idles, and you can revoke it in two clicks from Steam → Account → Authorized devices. * The one exception is the password + email-code sign-in for accounts without the mobile app: the password is used for that single sign-in to obtain the token, then discarded. It is never written to disk or to logs.
